NSW EPA were looking to create eLearning modules to ensure all contractors working in Broken Hill were aware of the precautions and work practices needed to prevent lead exposure for themselves, their families and the communities they work in. It was important that the eLearning was engaging and appealed to the target audience.
Art of Multimedia created 2 eLearning modules and a custom LMS system and have another module in development. AOM developed several scenarios with multiple custom illustrated characters, designed to be relatable delivering the content. The script is conversational in content & delivery and the scenarios reflective of the activities tradespeople would undertake. Multiple voice actors deliver the script, engaging the audiences in the scenarios.
The project was put on hold after the pilot launch due to Departmental priorities. Shannon Minnis, Senior Community Engagement Officer, Broken Hill Environmental Lead Program had this to say,
“AOM used their expertise in digital design, visual execution, communications, instructional design, interactivity and training to develop a customised Learning Management System and eLearning content. It was extremely important for the content to be very local, real and authentic to engage with key users. The products created thus far have exceeded the expectations of key stakeholders, including our program steering committee.”
