Women’s Forum Australia was established in 2005 as an independent women’s think tank. They conduct evidence-based research, develop and deliver high quality education programs to women and men, mentor women to be agents of positive social change and influence in the home, the community and the paid workforce, and inform government legislation and policies on issues of relevance to women’s health, well-being and safety.
Adoption is a complex social institution that has a broad impact on the whole community. Many will be surprised to learn that over the last 40 years, there has been a decline in adoption in Australia of 96.6% with only 339 adoptions in 2012-2013.
As well as this dramatic decline in adoptions, Australia has lower rates of adoption in all areas including intercountry adoptions and adoptions of children from institutions and care, than comparable nations, including the UK, the US and Canada, yet evidence demonstrates that adoption is still a workable option for Australia.
Women’s Forum Australia wanted to deliver that evidence to all individuals working in this area, to help facilitate best practice and thus successful outcomes for children and families.
Art of Multimedia were delighted to assist with designing and publishing a quality eBook through the major digital book publishers (AppStore and Google Play) and enabling its direct sale and delivery via Women Forum’s website.
We also created a printable, bindable version of the eBook for off-line reading.
The organisation was undergoing a re-brand and the research was finalised with little time to spare before the intended launch, but anything is possible with determination and the right team.
Kristan Dooley, Women’s Forum Australia Managing Director said,
“We were delighted with the final e-publication that AOM produced for our adoption report. Clean, professional and modern – exactly the kind of image Women’s Forum Australia wanted to portray. It was visually appealing yet thoughtful and considered - just the right balance for an important academic report that needs to interest a broad audience and not just gather dust on a library shelf.
"The team at AOM were wonderful. This was our first experience with producing an e-publication and it was a huge learning curve for us. Added to that, we had numerous challenges along the way and were running to a very tight deadline. Simon was always friendly, polite and professional and amazingly patient in coping with all our requests and last-minute changes. We managed to get a fantastic end-product and meet our deadline with at least a day to spare! Thank you AOM!“
