Multiple lists VS multiple segments
Getting your contacts organised thoughtfully upfront will help you get the most out of the reports and a clearer understanding of your contact's interests and interactions.
Thus when considering whether to set up multiple lists in your Third Eye accounts, for instance one for clients, another for prospects, yet another for staff, ask yourself the following questions:
- will I want the same people in multiple lists?
- will I usually send the same content to all of them?
- will I want to see their complete interaction history across those lists?
If you separate your contacts into multiple lists, their history will only show you their activity for that list, thus to get the complete picture of their interactions with your content, you would need to view separate lists and manually add up the results.
A much easier way is to simply segment your list and use segments to send varied campaigns.
