Campaign delivery in a Flash

A seasonal campaign produced by Art of Multimedia for The Rocks, in Sydney, showcases the tourism precinct’s less well-known arts and culture offering.

The campaign – branded ‘The Rocks. Think again.’ – groups suggested experiences under three themes. ‘Trail Blazers’ promotes The Rocks as a hub for emerging creative talent; ‘Surprise Packages’, a place of hidden cultural treats; and ‘Show Stoppers’, a centre for unmissable arts events.

A banner ad directs you from Time Out Sydney online to The Rocks website, where you can find out more about an experience by rolling over an icon on a map or an item in a menu underneath. You can also print each full list of themed suggestions for hard-copy reference.

The highly visual Flash application that powers this interactive campaign was built as a discrete package, yet integrates seamlessly with The Rocks site.

“The beauty of this solution is that it can be used during the campaign, and beyond the campaign period, as a standalone presentation hosted elsewhere online or offline,” explains Beata Kade, AOM’s managing director.

“With this particular project the Flash application could also be displayed in the foyer of the Museum of Contemporary Art, for example, so that their patrons could see what other arts opportunities were on offer around the corner. Flash applications can even be embedded in PDF documents and used for all kinds of promotional purposes, with AOM’s PDF Fusion treatment,” she adds.

AOM provided copywriting as well as design services on The Rocks job and turned the whole project around in less than a week, to meet the client’s tight deadline.
